I am writing this blog to share with you a free printable activity for my favorite on-the-go fun kit, the Color Sorting Cups. why it’s my favorite, you ask? Well, let me give you the short version..
You see, when my toddler was a wee bit younger, I was on a mission to find the perfect color sorting cups with adorable loose parts play. But, to my surprise, they were as elusive as unicorns here in Egypt! ๐ฆ So, being the determined soul I am (once something gets stuck in my head, it’s there to stay), I decided to take matters into my own hands. I improvised with plastic plates and pompoms, but that idea never left me.
And guess what? When I finally got my hands on one from abroad, my little one absolutely adored it! So After The Crafters Kit came to life and I learned different techniques to help me create things on my own. I knew I had to make these Color Sorting Cups for all the creative kiddos out there, just like mine.
Now, fast forward to today, and here we are, sharing the joy of creative play with you! ๐I’m excited to share with you a fun activity that’s sure gonna add some fun learning to your child’s playtime โ “Bears on the Bus“! ๐๐ป
Now, let’s dive into the star of today’s show โ our “Bears on the Bus” activity. This one’s a gem, trust me. It’s a fantastic way for kids to practice counting and sharpen their color recognition skills. How? By matching the numbers and colors of bears on flashcards to the real bears and make them hop into the school bus.
What You’ll Need:
Before we get started, here’s what you’ll need:
- Download the printable activity PDF (it’s free!)
- Print it on A4 papers
- Want extra durability? Laminate it for long-lasting fun!
Ways to Play:
Now, let’s talk about the fun part โ how to play “Bears on the Bus.” The possibilities are as endless as a child’s imagination! Here are some ideas:
- Number Matching: Match the number shown on the flashcards to the number of bears hopping on the bus, one by one, just like the number on the card.
- Color recognition: Challenge your little one to sort the bears by both color and number. The flashcards not only feature numbers but also bears in various colors. Match the numbers on the flashcards to the number of bears on the bus and ensure that the bears you choose have same color. It’s a fantastic way to explore both counting and color recognition.
- Imaginative Scenarios: Who’s the bus driver picking up first today? Create fun scenarios and stories as your child explores the magical world of the “Bears on the Bus.”
Remember, there are no strict rules here. This activity is all about learning through play and having a blast while doing it.
